no se lo van a creer! este fin de semana aproveché para aprender algunas cosas sobre el país en el que resido:
sábado; la mañana:
por la mañana me fui al gimnasio. hay que moverse un poco con todo este estar sentado en la oficina el día entero. en estos lugares de encuentro social es donde uno aprende más sobre la fauna local.
me puse a correr en una máquina de éstas con cinta que nunca paran hasta que uno se cae de cansancio y aún así siguen dando, bueno, me puse a correr. como conozco bien la ruta que solía tomar por el bosque en Copenhague me la imaginé: ahora viene el lago, ahora la subida, el castillo, el rosario... no es lo mismo estar corriendo en una cinta viendo el parking del gimnasio (que, por cierto, se llama "Scandinavia", jajaja) en el bulevar Vista Hermosa (muy chistoso, eso del nombre..).
en fin, lo que quería contar es que me di cuenta muy rápido que estas máquinas en realidad se usaban para hablar por teléfono, no para correr. los más sofisticados de la especie (= más entrenados) usaban hasta dos, tres celulares a la vez. no paraba de sonar algún teléfono. y cuando no le llamaban, la señorita a mi lado llamó "hola, es que estoy en el gym no puedo hablar ahora porque estoy corriendo". si, o sea. la verdad es que no sé como será eso en otros gimnasios del mundo, porque no los conozco. pero ahí, me quedé impresionada.
por la tarde:
El Jefe y Tania me llevaron a 4 grados norte, el Bellavista de acá (si es que conocen Santiago :) ), o el Vesterbro, Mitte, Lavapiés - aunque nunca llega a tanto. es una zona chica, muy linda, con grafiti y bares, cultura y música (tal como me gusta) nada más en versión ultrapequeña.
(menos mal que por fin pude conocer un lado agradable de la ciudad!)
bueno, y al tomar un café exquisito en un viejo castillo andalú encantado (de ahí es pondré fotos!) aprendí por fin porque es que no hay vacas en este país:
porque se caen. por las montañas.
me lo explicaron, en serio! como en todos lados hay cuestas pararriba y parabajo quedarían chuecas las vacas y se caerían por el desequilibrio y no podrían levantarse más.
intentaré explicarle esto a un suizo porque realmente me gustó mucho la explicación.
fomingo:
la lección del domingo fue dual también, pero bastante menos entretenida.
1) si trabajas y estudias no tienes fines de semana. ni mucho menos una vida.
2) por lo tanto, tampoco hace falta que haga ni buen tiempo, ni que funcione el internet los días festivos (incluyendo fines de semana). hm.
hoy ya es lunes otra vez y estoy en mi oficinita. ni siquiera hace frío hoy, porque prendimos una estufa. yuhuu!

lessons for life
you won´t believe it! this weekend i used to learn some essential things about the country i am residing in:
saturday, the morning:
went to the gym. got to move a little with this whole sitting in the office all day. and in these places of social encounter one learns most about the local fauna.
funnily enough they call the place "Scandinavia" - look outside the window on a parking lot nothing to do with the foresty roads i used to take in Copenhagen... Boulevard Vista Hermosa, how ironic!
Anyways, i noticed that, really, these beltrunningmachines i thought were for workout (of the meanest kind) are for phonetalking. everybody just talked. the most sofisticated - read: trained - specimen with two, three cells at the time. wow. and if she wasn´t called for a moment, the lady next to me took initiative herself "heeeyy, im sorry , can´t talk really right now cause im at the gyyym you know..." frankly, i have no clue how they handle this in other gyms around the world since i don´t know any. but i left impressed.
the afternoon:
The Boss and Tania took me to "4 degrees north", nice little (formerly industrial) neighbourhood close by - finally i got to see a nice part of town! its grafiti and bars, culture and music, just how i could like it, in small (just one block actually).
and while having an exquisite coffee at this old enchanted andalusian castle (oh i will present you some pictures later on!) i finally learned whythere are no cows in this country:
because they´d fall. the mountains.
seriously, they explained that to me! since its up and down and never straight here, the cows would become crooked and fall and never be able to lift themselves up again.
i´ll try to explain this to a suiss next time, because i sincerely appreciated this explanation.
sunday:
another dual lecture, yet much less entertaining.
1) if you work and study you have no weekend. don´t even think about a life!
2) consequently, there is no need neither for good weather nor for functioning internet on holydays (including weekends). hm.
today is monday already again, and im in the office - and its even warm. we turned on a little stove. yuhuu!
